QbCheck ADHD Assessments Now Available (Adults and Children)
At ABC the aim is to not only to help children and young people with their difficulties, but also support parents/caregivers alongside the process, promoting greater understanding and connection between parent and child in non-judgmental, supportive way. In addition, as our therapists are trained in the therapeutic use of gaming (Minecraft, Roblox, etc), we often find even the most resistant of children are able to engage in the process. Collaborative Parent/Child-Led Therapies can be a real game-changer. We also routinely screen for Sensory Issues, ADHD and Autism at Intake Stage, as undiagnosed special needs can have a huge impact on a child's mental health.
A combination of play, creative play, talking and gaming therapies offered in a safe environment, with a qualified practitioner can be really helpful for any child or young person who is experiencing difficulties - especially when combined with support and guidance for parents/caregivers. Whether it's a mental health concern, challenging behaviour, exam stress or a problem relating to family, friends and/or school/college this approach can provide more effective, long-term results, than individual therapy alone.
Sometimes therapy alone isn't enough for your child and the environment needs looking at too. ABC can offer specialist SEN support to help you navigate the EHCP process, attend meetings and advocate for you . Our experienced SEN specialist can help you ensure your child has the provision they need to thrive in-school.
